Galustov is an Emmy-winning Director of Photography with 25 years of experience in film, television and media. Having worked in nearly every role on large and small productions, Mikhail brings a rare skillset, thorough understanding of the process and extensive experience in multi-camera shoots in challenging and remote environments. He shoots documentaries, branded films, corporate and commercial assignments across the Middle East, South Asia and Europe.
Starting as a writer at a local newspaper in a suburb of Moscow when he was 16, Mikhail later worked as a newspaper and magazine photographer in Russia and internationally on commissions for The New Yorker, Harpers, The Rolling Stone, TIME, The New York Times and GQ. He started shooting documentaries on a trip to Afghanistan in 2010. In the years that followed he shot and produced films across Central Asia and the Middle East for a wide range of clients including National Geographic, Discovery Channel, HBO, VICE Studios, MTV, BBC, CNN, Médecins Sans Frontières and Human Rights Watch, to name a few.
Mikhail is based in Paris, France.
